Hi there, meet Deb!
Deb Gonzales is an award-winning author, educator, and Pinterest marketing specialist with a lifetime of experience inspiring others. As the founder of Pin Lit Marketing, she empowers authors, illustrators, and book sellers to create vibrant Pinterest platforms that amplify their stories and connect with their audiences.
Deb’s passion for children, books, and education is the foundation of her career. She has worn many hats: teacher, school administrator, educational consultant, curriculum designer, writing workshop instructor, and former adjunct professor. She even taught PBS’s Barney kids in an off-set Montessori classroom! Alongside her marketing work, Deb creates engaging educational guides for publishers, authors, and educators through her service, Guides by Deb. She holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
As an author, Deb has published the nonfiction picture book Girls with Guts: The Road to Breaking Barriers and Bashing Records (illustrated by Rebecca Gibbons & published by Charlesbridge), a celebration of the tenacious history of female athletes and the passage of Title IX, as well as a number of early readers with New Zealand’s Giltedge Publishing.
With 35+ years in the classroom, Deb knows exactly what educators need in a guide—engaging, lively, and entertaining content that connects students with the heart of a book while meeting today’s academic standards. Her well-crafted guides ensure books remain in the hearts of young readers and the hands of the educators who inspire them.
A transplant from Austin, Texas, Deb now calls magical Ann Arbor, Michigan home, where she lives with her beloved husband, John, and her sweet black Lab, Missy.
